The Paul Cuthbertson Foundation is pleased to announce the seventh round of The Live for Those Who Cannot Grant awards. A total of $44,900 was awarded to a diverse group of young men and women that demonstrated need, a passion for life and dedication to achieving excellence in their pursuits.
Twenty applications were received, and ten grants were awarded to the following recipients:

- Tyler Blair
- Vespera Steiner
Selected applicants are pursuing a variety of interests including: Nordic Combined, Art, Dance, & Non-Profit Administration, Freeride Skiing, Alpine Ski Racing, Pilot School, Mogul Skiing, Cross Country & Track, and Continuing Education with a focus’s on: Civil Engineering, Art, Fish & Wildlife Management, and Accounting.
Recipients are from Avon, Dillon, Eagle, Frisco, Gunnison, Gypsum, and Steamboat Springs.

This support will help me travel to compete and train at some of the highest levels of Nordic Combined. As I continue pursuing my goals in the sport, opportunities like this make it possible for me to attend important competitions and focus on reaching my full potential as an athlete. Being chosen for this award means a great deal to me, and I am thankful for the belief and support that this organization has shown in my journey. Thank you so much! “I am so beyond grateful for this wonderful opportunity. I believe that ’live for those who cannot’ means recognizing that not everyone has the same time, opportunities, or abilities to pursue what they love, so it it important to fully live, not just for yourself, but in a way that honors those who do not have that chance. I will be pursuing a career in children’s art therapy, and non-profit administration, with hopes in providing young people with gateways to self-expression and understanding. As a life-long competitive dancer, my plan is to continue dance in some form, and this grant will allow me to keep doing what I love. I have been given the chance to train under the Joffrey Ballet School Summer Intensive, as well as studying art in Europe and this grant will allow me to participate in both, even before my college career begins. I am so grateful for the Paul Cuthbertson Foundation that opens of many amazing doors to kids in mountain communities including myself.” Finley Downum

“I cannot express my gratitude to the Paul Cuthbertson Foundation for supporting me in my journey as a pilot. Because of their generosity, I have been able to continue flight school, which has been a childhood dream of mine. Due to living in a small mountain town, there are not a lot of opportunities for a young aviator, but this amazing foundation has been one more step toward accomplishing my goal of becoming a pilot and flying toward my dreams.” Tirzah Ryan
